Lennox Head is one of Australia’s National Surfing Reserves. Experts will love the waves at Boulders Beach and beginners can take a lesson with Soul Surf School or Kool Katz. Things to do
Beach-goers will want to head straight for Seven Mile Beach, a pristine stretch of sand that runs from Lennox Head north to Broken Head. You can also drive a 4WD along the northern end. You’ll find stunning coastal scenery all around town, with headlands offering views over the beach and a beach-side lake ideal for kayaking and canoeing.
Dolphins often join surfers riding the waves. Between May and November, you can spot whales on their annual migration. As the coastline in this regions just further out to the east, the whales can often be seen very close to shore.
Tea trees line Lake Ainsworth, offering families a safe swimming area away from the waves plus excellent facilities for picnics and barbecues. For an aerial view, enjoy the thrill of paragliding with Poliglide or hang-gliding with Byron Airwaves. You’ll also find delicious waterfront cafes and restaurants as well as the monthly Lennox Community Market.
